Fees

Application for membership in the CVA is open to all licenced Canadian vintners, and the Association is actively seeking new members.

The current membership fee structure (plus GST) is based on a basic fee and a market share assessment fee. The basic fee is:

$1,000 for a small winery (less than 250,000 litres in sales)
$3,000 for a medium winery (250, 000 to 2,000,000 litres in sales)
$5,000 for a large winery (above 2,000,000 litres in sales)

The market share assessment is based on a member’s percentage market share of total sales by CVA members. As an example, total annual fees for small wineries — the combination of both basic and market share fees — would be in the order of $1,100 - $1,200 annually.

For about $100 a month, the benefits are considerable. A non-member would need to pay at least this amount for the detailed Canadian market data only.
